Why you should study Alexandrian Style:

Definition: Alexandrian style comes from the port of Alexandria, North of Egypt. This is where women are bold and strong, and they are sassy and playful. The dance is upbeat and filled with travelling steps and bold expression.

Prop: Melaya (black fabric used as a modesty element to cover the body and must be black)

Rhythm: many rhythms are used in this style, but there is also a specific Alexandrian rhythm

Costume: short dress with ruffles on the bottom and on the chest
